All or Nothing
It is Mental Health Month!!
Here is something you probably didn’t
know about your mental health…. most people have the all or
nothing mindset.
All or nothing- you are either all in or you are not. It is
that simple.
The all or nothing thinking is known to be part of a thought
process that is is common with people with anxiety and depression. This allows
these types of people to only see the downside to any given situation. You can
either succeed or you fail. But, what if there is room for something in
between?
Not everything is known to be nothing or never. Just because
our anxiety and depression is convincing us not right now, it doesn’t mean never. Sometimes, things just take time. We are
encouraged to find the positive of not getting that job, house, or
relationship. Sometimes, things are meant for us not now, but later on. If we
don’t get it right now, it does not mean
nothing is coming.
Having an all or nothing mindset means you either go above
and beyond for something or not even trying. There are days where you are all
dressed for an occasion or days where you can’t
even get out of bed. You think your friends are beyond interested in you, or
you think they don’t care. It means you don’t do anything without long term. Once you are done with
something you are completely done. You get self-conscious about a lot about
things including if people will stay around.
But, let me tell you a couple of things. When you think the
all or nothing mindset, you cannot let your emotions win. We have to let your
brain be stronger than our emotions. We have to give up the idea that people
hate us or that just because something didn’t work
out right now, doesn’t mean it can’t work out months from now. It is important to note that you
are not a failure. Having an all or nothing mindset means you are empathetic
and human. Nothing is wrong with you, but know not to give up and be able to
think outside the box.
I am guilty of all these things. But, something I learned in
the past couple of months is that you are not your bad thoughts, but how you
turn them into something productive and meaningful. Scorpios are known to be
the sign with this complete mindset.
“You don’t have to struggle in silence.”
That’s the tea
